Important Notes about fostering:

    1)  To qualify to be a foster, you must be within 60 minutes from Pensacola.   This is for event, public viewing, Vet and periodic Home visits.

    2) Everyone fostering needs to bring the foster danes to our events. Arrangements should be made prior to the event to make this happen. We have danes that can't be adopted because they are not close enough to attend the events and they have not been seen by the public.

In providing a foster home, I understand and agree that:

1. I shall provide food, shelter, medical care, basic obedience training, and a loving environment to the Great Dane.

2. The Great Dane is under a great deal of stress and shall be treated accordingly. I shall exercise special care in introducing the Great Dane to any and all humans and animals. I understand that NWFLGDR Inc. makes no warranties (expressed or implied) or representations as to the health, fitness, behavior or temperament of the Great Dane. I accept this Great Dane "as is."

3. I shall keep the Great Dane separate from my own animals during the evaluation period. I shall be responsible financially for any injury to either the Great Dane or other animals that is directly or indirectly caused by the Great Dane. I shall also be responsible financially for any damage to property directly or indirectly caused by the Great Dane.

4. I shall administer all medications, including heartworm preventative, as instructed and keep records of dates of administration.

5. I shall not allow the Great Dane to be used for breeding purposes. If the Great Dane has not been neutered or spayed, I shall, under the direction of my Coordinator, have the Great Dane altered by the deadline set by the Coordinator. I shall administer care during the time after surgery and notify the Coordinator of any problems that may arise.

6. At the discretion of NWFLGDR Inc., I may have the opportunity to permanently adopt the Great Dane. I shall not release the Great Dane until administrative approval is given and the appropriate NWFLGDR Inc. contracts have been signed.

7. I shall allow an authorized representative of NWFLGDR Inc. to examine and make inquiries regarding the Great Dane at any time and, if not satisfied with the conditions or care, I understand that, with the Coordinator's approval, NWFLGDR Inc. shall immediately reclaim the Great Dane. I understand that NWFLGDR Inc. retains full ownership rights to the Great Dane while in foster care.

8. I shall immediately notify the Coordinator of any and all problems or changes in the condition of the Great Dane, whether it is medical, behavioral or physical.

9. NWFLGDR Inc. shall reimburse me only for pre-approved veterinary expenses. The Coordinator must approve routine or extraordinary cumulative expenses in excess of $100. I agree to notify the Coordinator as to why the Great Dane needs veterinary attention. In emergency situations, the Coordinator shall be notified at the earliest possible time as to the reason for the visit and the disposition of care and cost involved. I understand that any veterinary expenses that are not pre-approved become my complete financial responsibility and shall be considered a donation to NWFLGDR Inc., in full, on my behalf.

10. I shall notify the Coordinator of any changes in my household members, address, telephone number or email address as soon as the changes occur.

11. If, for any reason, I can no longer provide a foster home for the Great Dane, I shall immediately notify the Coordinator.

If any provision of this Foster Care Contract is found to be unenforceable, then such provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions of the Foster Care Contract shall have full force and effect.
