Disclaimer: The following information may be graphic. We are reporting facts about disreputable Great Dane Breeders in the North West Florida (Panhandle) area. Some may find this nauseating, disturbing or sad... but in the very least we hope you all find this educational.
Unfortunately there are many irresponsible Great Dane Breeders in the North West Florida area. The primary motive for these folks is money and not breed preservation. The problem with that? Lots of ill, poorly socialized, genetically flawed INNOCENT puppies. The un-sellable pups are usually killed and usually not in a humane fashion, i.e. drowning, shooting, poison ect. In our area alone we know of three unethical breeders, breeding their females every time they go into heat with whichever male happens to be on hand. Not only does that practice over saturate our area with Great Danes, it puts the mother's in danger from over breeding and borders on puppy mill action as well as further hindering this noble breed's bloodlines. In Escambia County alone 12,499 animals were put to death due to irresponsible breeding IN ONE YEAR!
We hope to help those who want to purchase Danes from breeders to make an educated decision. The act of buying a dog should not come as an impulse or a whim. The dog will depend on you and your family for every aspect of its life.

3. The "breeder" has no involvement in dog sports
4. The "breeder" doesn't let you observe the puppies or adults, or let you see the kennels
5. The "breeder" has no documentation and cannot provide a pedigree
